Crockpot Boneless Ham
Crockpot boneless ham is a delicious and easy way to cook ham. It is perfect for a holiday meal or a weeknight dinner.
This spiral ham is cooked in a slow cooker with a simple glaze of mustard, pineapples, and brown sugar. The ham is tender and juicy, and the glaze is sticky and sweet.
I love using my crockpot to make dinner easy, especially during the holidays like Easter. We always make this ham with a side of cheesy potatoes and carrot cake cupcakes for dessert.

Why We Love Slow Cooker Spiral Ham
- It only takes less than 10 minutes to prep.
- Free up room in the oven for all the other side dishes and desserts you need to make.
- Delicious and simple glaze with just brown sugar, ground mustard, and pineapple rings.
- Make ham and cheese sliders with the leftovers, which is the best when you don’t feel like cooking after a holiday meal.
Crockpot Boneless Ham Ingredients
- Ham. You can use a bone-in ham or boneless ham. I like to get pre-cooked smoked ham for the best flavor. I get an 8-10 pound ham.
- Mustard. I use ground mustard to balance out the sweetness.
- Smoked Paprika. This is my “secret” spice to adding more smoked flavor. If you like your ham sweeter, you can skip the smoked paprika. But I like a more savory ham with a hint of sweetness.
- Brown sugar. You can use dark or light brown sugar. The brown sugar is what makes the delicious caramelized glaze.
- Pineapple. Pineapple rings on the bottom of the crockpot keep the ham from drying out. Save some of the glaze and pineapples to store with any leftovers.
Kitchen Tools
You will need a crockpot, an 8-quart crockpot is a perfect size to fit an 8-pound ham. Make the brown sugar rub in a mixing bowl and whisk. Slice the ham with a large knife and serve on a pretty serving platter. Oh & don’t forget to check the ham with a meat thermometer.
How To Make Crockpot Ham
- Make sugar rub. Mix the sugar and spices to create a delicious sugar rub.
- Pineapple rings. Place the pineapple rings on the bottom of your crockpot.
- Add ham. Place the ham on top of the pineapple slices.
- Sugar rub. Rub the sugar rub all over the top of the ham.
- Cook. Cook on low for 4-5 hours or until the ham reaches 140°F.
Expert Tips For Making Slow Cooker Spiral Ham
- Glaze packet. If your ham comes with a glaze packet just throw it away, this homemade glaze is WAY better.
- How much ham per person? 1/3 pound per person for a boneless ham and 1/2 pound per person for a bone-in ham. I like to get an 8-pound ham or a 10-pound ham if I want leftovers for everyone.
- Tight seal. Make sure the lid on your crockpot is fully closed. If your ham doesn’t fit in your crockpot, just slice the top or you can use a heavy-duty foil to cover your slow cooker. You want everything tightly sealed or the steam will escape resulting in a dry ham.
- Let it rest. Don’t skip this step, if you slice it too soon all the juices will come out. Tent the ham with aluminum foil and let rest for 15 minutes to let the ham soak up all the flavorful juices.
- Slice it. When carving your ham, make sure you slice it against the grain.
