Ingredients To Make Strawberry Lemonade
- Sugar: I use granulated sugar to make the simple syrup.
- Water: You will use a total of about 7 cups of water for this lemonade recipe. 1 cup of water is used to mix with the sugar.
- Fresh strawberries: I love using fresh, juicy strawberries but you can use frozen strawberries. Just make sure you thaw them first.
- Lemons: Freshly squeezed lemon juice is the best but if you need to use store-bought lemon juice you can but know the flavor will be super tart.
How To Make Strawberry Lemonade
- Boil. In a medium saucepan, bring sugar and water to a boil. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
- Blend. Place strawberries into a food processor or blender and blend until smooth to make strawberry puree.
- Mix. Pour strawberry puree into the sugar water. Add lemon juice. Stir well.
- Serve. Pour strawberry lemon mixture and cold water into a large pitcher. Stir well and add ice. Pour into glasses and top with chopped strawberries and a lemon slice.
Expert Tips
- Sparkling Water. Want to give the lemonade a little fizz, use sparkling water instead of plain water.
- Make it a cocktail. Add some vodka or even tequila.
- Limes. If you want to switch it up, you can make strawberry limeade which is also super delicious. All you have to do is substitute the lemons for limes
Recipe FAQs
No, most pink lemonades are just regular lemonade that is dyed pink with food coloring.
Squeezing fresh lemon juice is so easy and tastes way better than store-bought. Just use a lemon squeezer and in minutes you can have all the lemons squeezed.
I like to use Sunkist lemons as they use in Chick-fil-A lemonade but any lemon you find at your local grocery store will work great.
Make Ahead & Store
Make ahead. Make the lemonade but leave out the ice cubes. Store in the refrigerator until ready to serve. Add ice to the pitcher or pour over ice in individual glasses.
Store. Store any leftover strawberry lemonade in a covered pitcher or jar in the refrigerator for 7-10 days.

Thank you so much for this recipe. I absolutely loved it!
Your very welcome and I’m so glad you loved it! 🙂
This was really yummy-made for a work pitch in & was very refreshing.
Can the lemon juice be store bought or do I need to squeeze the lemons to make it?
Yes, I buy my lemon juice at the store. You can find it by the lemons in the produce aisle. 🙂
I just made this lemonade, and it is soo good! I’ve enjoyed many a strawberry lemonade from restaurants, but I far prefer the thicker strawberry puree (with a few chunks!) that this recipe gives. Plus, none of the strawberry is wasted. You eat all that goodness that you paid for! Great recipe!
I just want to know what size pitcher would i need? How much would this recipe make? 2 quarts or 3 quarts (Once its done)? Thanks!
It will make about 2 quarts, enjoy! 🙂
Do you think I could make the simple syrup and the strawberry puree in advance? For example, if I was hosting a bbq on the weekend, could I make them the weekend before and store them so I just had to stir everything together before my guests arrive?Â
Yes, you can! 🙂
This looks amazing! I have been searching all over for some great lemonade recipes and this one looks outstanding! We will be enjoying it this weekend at our BBQ! Thanks for sharing!Â
Made it loved itÂ
I found this recipe on Pinterest. It looks like the perfect summertime drink!!

This is amazing! Not to sweet, not to tart. It is Christmas Eve in South Tx and 8- degrees. Â Plenty of lemons hanging around the house. Great treat, even in the winter. In the summer, I can see some fresh mint muddled into the mix as well! YUM! Thanks for the great recipeÂ
What a gorgeous photo! I love the whole set up 🙂
Summer’s almost over but I think I can get one more of these yummy looking lemonades in me!

This looks so springy and fabulous! I love that you made your own strawberry simple syrup – I bet it tastes amazing on its own, but elevated with lemonade sends it over the top!Â
This is SO pretty! And I’m totally craving some right now. I just have to be a little more patient and wait for strawberry season to start in the UK properly!Â
