Ingredients For Meatloaf

Ingredients for stove top stuffing meatloaf.
  • Ground beef. Use lean ground beef, thawed and uncooked. You don’t want to brown it before mixing in the other ingredients.
  • Stove Top Stuffing mix. This is the secret ingredient to this meatloaf that makes it so flavorful and moist.
  • Dry onion soup mix. Another easy way to add a lot of flavor without a lot of effort. This helps make the 5-minute prep even easier.
  • Grated parmesan cheese. Parmesan cheese gives this dish a subtle cheesy flavor and also helps with the texture.
  • Milk. Like most meatloafs, milk is used to help the meatloaf stay moist and tender while cooking. You can use whatever percentage of milk you use at home.
  • Eggs. Eggs help the ground beef and stove top stuffing mix stick together to make a loaf-like appearance.
  • BBQ sauce. Smothered on top to give all the best flavors, I love making my homemade honey BBQ sauce, or if I don’t have time to make my own we also love Sweet Baby Rays.

Tips for the Best Results

  • Mix Thoroughly. Make sure the ingredients are thoroughly mixed throughout the ground beef.
  • Bake Just Right. It’s important not to over-bake meatloaf! When you over-bake it, it dries out and is not as good.
  • Don’t Skimp On Moisture. The Stove Top Stuffing is a dry mix and will use up a lot of moisture. If you don’t use the suggested milk amount, the meatloaf will dry out.
  • Barbecue Sauce. I used sweet Baby Rays barbecue sauce but you can use homemade BBQ sauce or any other flavor BBQ sauce you love.
