Tips & Variations

  • Don’t add too much sauce. If you add more sauce than what’s called for, you risk making the bread super soggy.
  • Offer a topping bar. A great way to get kids involved in the kitchen is by letting them top off their own personal pizzas! Setting up a little topping bar and letting them put exactly what they want on their pizzas before they go into the oven is always lots of fun.
  • Don’t let it burn! Keep in mind that the bread is already cooked. When you pop it into the oven, it’s just to crisp up the bread and make the cheese melt. It should NOT be in there for longer than 15 minutes. At the 10-minute mark, peep into the oven and keep an eye on things!
  • Add a little spice. Do you like spicy pizzas? Feel free to sprinkle some crushed red pepper flakes on top of the cheese before it goes into the oven! You can also stir it into the sauce for even more spice.
  • Switch up the cheese. Mozzarella is always my favorite standard cheese to toss onto a pizza, but you can experiment with any kind of cheese you’d like. A sprinkle of Parmesan on top is never a bad idea!
  • Air Fryer. If you have a big enough air fryer, try cooking it in the air fryer for a quick and oven-free method.
