Ingredients
- Grapes: Use green and red grapes for a nice color contrast. Be sure to grab seedless!
- Sour cream: Creates a creamy texture for the mixture.
- Cream cheese: Cream cheese balances out the sour cream and thickens it up just a bit!
- Sugars: Granulated sugar is used for the salad mixture and brown sugar for the topping.
- Vanilla: Just a bit of vanilla to give it a delicious warm flavor.
- Nuts: Pecans and walnuts make a great combination for the topping!
How To Make Grape Salad with Cream Cheese
- Combine: Combine the sour cream, cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl and mix together until it’s smooth and creamy.
- Add: Add the grapes into the mixture and stir carefully.
- Make Topping: Combine the brown sugar and nuts in a small bowl.
- Add Topping: Sprinkle the mixture over the grapes. Refrigerate for at least two hours before serving.
Recipe Tips & Variations
- Use seedless grapes. The grapes are left intact in the salad and no one wants to crunch into a seed when eating.
- Use red and green grapes. While you can technically use one or the other, the contrasting colors make the salad look more interesting while adding more complex flavors and textures since these grapes are slightly different.
- Make sure to soften the cream cheese. This way it will easily mix with the other ingredients and turn out smooth and creamy.
- Healthier version. Use plain Greek yogurt instead of sour cream. It tastes slightly different but will still work. This swap boosts the protein and lowers the fat.
- Add another fruit into the mix. Fresh strawberries, blueberries, and even diced apple work great.

This is our kind of salad! Fresh and fruity with some great crunch!
what a great side dish! we love pecans and grapes!
Would this still work well if I cut the grapes in half for my grandkids.Â
Yes, you can cut the grapes in half! 🙂 Your grandkids will love it!
Hi, this looks extremely delicious, I’m on weight watchers and I keyed in the recipe in my app to find out how many points it would cost me. Its 11 points per serving, but the only thing I don’t know is what would you consider a serving size? would it be 1 cup? or 1/2 cup? please help me. I would love to make this dish, but I would like to stay on plan as well. Thx a bunch for the awesome recipe.
I don’t know much about weight watchers, but I would guess a serving size would be about 1/2 cup. Enjoy! 🙂
Has anyone tried adding fresh strawberries to this dish?
No, but that sounds amazing! 🙂 I will have to try that the next time I make it!
I’ve made this salad twice…both times well received, but it was very sweet. I think the next time I make it, I’ll cut way back on the brown sugar. Also, the brown sugar starts turning the mixture an unappetizing color after folks serve themselves and the sugar gets stirred up in the grape mixture.
I just made this salad and found the proportions of dressing to grapes is way out of proportion – I added at least an extra cup of each type of grape and I feel there is still too much dressing!
Tastes delicious though!
I’ve made a similar salad but it’s called grape Greek yougurt salad and you use the same ingredients but instead of sour cream you use plain Greek yougurt with honey or just plain yougurt and add your own honey, and then you use the whipped cream cheese, but I’m going go try this one as as wellÂ
I made this for a potluck at work and it is really good. Everybody enjoyed it! Thanks for sharing!
This looks delicious but this is a lot of added sugar. Have you, or any other readers, ever made this with less or even no sugar? Thank you.
Jan, if you didn’t want so much sugar you could omit the brown sugar and just use plain pecans and walnuts.
