- Under 30 Minutes. This dessert comes together in less than 30 minutes! You’ll need to let it set in the refrigerator for a few hours but the assembly takes no time at all.
- Perfect for a Crowd. I love how I can make a large pan of this! It’s perfect when I want to bring it to a large family gathering.
- Great for the summer. The perfect summer dessert! Because it’s no-bake, you don’t have to heat the oven and get your house too hot during the summer months.
- Holiday Favorite. A great recipe for holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, and the 4th of July! It’s so versatile, and because it’s easy to make, it doesn’t take up too much time.
Ingredients For Cherry Delight
- Cream Cheese. I love using Philadelphia cream cheese. It has the best texture and sets just right. Make sure to soften the cream cheese before so it mixes smoothly.
- Cool Whip. Be sure to thaw the cool whip before using it. Simply set it on the counter 30 minutes before assembly.
- Butter. Melted butter holds the graham cracker crust together perfectly.
- Sugar. Use white granulated sugar to give the graham cracker crust a nice sweet taste. It also helps hold the crust together.
- Graham Crackers. Crush up graham crackers using a plastic bag and rolling pin or by adding them to a food processor.
- Cherry Filling. This recipe is so easy! Use your favorite store-bought cherry filling to top that creamy cream cheese filling.
- Vanilla. Use vanilla to give a subtle vanilla taste and enhance the flavor of the cream cheese and cool whip.
Tips for the Best Results
- Softened Cream Cheese. Make sure the cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps in the filling.
- Firm Pressing. Firmly press the graham cracker crumb mixture into your dish to create a compact and even crust. Use the bottom of a glass or measuring cup for even pressure.
- Quality Cherry Pie Filling. Use a good quality cherry pie filling for the best flavor.
- Spread Evenly. Spread the cherry topping evenly over the cream cheese layer for a consistent flavor in every bite.
- Chill Before Serving. Chilling cherry delight is key! Make sure to chill for at least 3 hours but it tastes the best when it chills over night.
How To Make The Best Cherry Delight
- Prep. Prepare a 9×9 baking dish by spraying it with cooking spray.
- Crust. Mix the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar together. Press the graham and butter mixture into the bottom of the pan.
- Mix. Beat together the Cool Whip and cream cheese until smooth. Add sugar and vanilla.
- Pour. Add the cheesecake mixture to the top of the graham cracker crust. Spread evenly.
- Top. Add your favorite cherry pie filling to the top of the cheesecake mixture.
- Chill. Be sure to chill for at least 3-5 hours covered with plastic wrap.
What To Serve With Cherry Delight
This goes great with holiday spreads. Its red color makes for a fun Valentine’s treat alongside Cherry Chocolate Chip Brownies. Or make it for 4th of July and serve it alongside Air Fryer Hot Dogs and BBQ Baked Beans.
Leftovers & Storing
- Store. Cherry Delight is best served the next day! Store in the refrigerator covered with plastic wrap. This dessert is so much better when you make it the night before. It sets up better and the flavors blend together well.
