The flavors of this bacon cheddar pretzel dip are certain to make this your new dipping favorite! Why You’ll Love This Pretzel Dip!
- Pretzels need their own dip too! The flavors in this recipe are perfectly designed for them (the beer and cheese!).
- A party favorite! Everyone is going to love the blend of flavors of this bacon cheddar ranch dip.
- Bacon makes everything taste better!
- Only five simple ingredients mix up in one bowl!
- Versatile dip. It goes with a wide array of dippers and works for all types of events. So serve it up for a family movie night, backyard cocktail party, holiday gathering, or watching your favorite teams play!
Ingredients
- Cream cheese: Gives the dip its thick creamy consistency and a bit of tang.
- Creamy ranch dressing: Using store-bought ranch to flavor this easy dip recipe keeps things simple plus it blends with the cream cheese making a more dippable consistency.
- Cheddar cheese: My preference is cheddar cheese but of course, you can certainly use other shredded cheese to make pretzel dip.
- Beer: Any brand of beer will work and you can even use non-alcoholic beer. I used Sam Adams OctoberFest when testing this recipe and it works great.
- Bacon: Use cooked and chopped bacon to give the dip a crunchy, savory, and salty flavor of bacon. Yum!
How To Make Pretzel Dip
This easy pretzel dip goes together in just a few simple steps! Use a stand mixer if you can to make it even easier!
- Mix together. The cream cheese and ranch dressing using an electric mixer or stand mixer until it’s smooth and creamy.
- Pour in. Your favorite beer and mix until it’s combined.
- Add. The shredded cheese and mix it in.
- Toss. In the chopped bacon and mix until everything is mixed together. Chill the dip for at least an hour.
- Top. Your pretzel dip with shredded cheese and chopped bacon and serve it with crackers, pretzels, potato chips, or any combination!
Tips & Variations
- Make Sure the Bacon is Crispy. You want to cook it so that it’s crispy and not undercooked. Also, be sure you drain the bacon well and pat any excess grease off the bacon.
- Give Your Dip Some Extra Kick. If you want to add more “kick” to this dip, you can add green onions, green chilies, a dash of onion salt, or chopped jalapeno.
- Don’t Want To Use Beer!?: No problem, you can substitute the beer for chicken broth.
- Give It Time to Chill. An hour in the fridge (or overnight!) allows the flavors to meld together but also the consistency will firm up a bit.
Serving Suggestions
- Create a dip board or tray for a party! Add some potato chip dip, pickle dip, or veggie dip along with all types of chips, pretzels, crackers, and veggies for dipping!
- Planning on serving it up for game day! Don’t forget some easy slow cooker meatballs, chicken wings, or Hawaiian roll sliders.
- Skip the plain pretzels and serve up these Ranch pretzels for dipping for a bit more zesty flavors.
Recipe FAQ
You can if you’re looking to shave off some calories but this swap does change the flavor a bit!
All of them! Mini pretzels, regular pretzels, and sticks all work great for dipping! It also works great with soft pretzels too, especially when they’re a bit warm.
Storing
- Store. Your bacon cheddar ranch dip in the fridge for up to four days. If you’re making it ahead of time, I recommend making it no more than 1-2 days ahead of time.

This sounds amazing! I plan to make it this weekend, I was wondering if the consistency turns out more thick or runny?
It’s on the thicker side but not too thick that you can’t scoop a chip into it. Enjoy 🙂
