You don’t need much to make the BEST burgers! Here’s a look at the ingredients to gather up:

How to Make Air Fryer Frozen Burgers
This easy recipe only requires a couple of steps! So let’s get cooking.
- Preheat. Your air fryer before adding the burger patties.
- Place. The frozen hamburgers in the air fryer and cook for 10 to 20 minutes, depending on how you like your burgers cooked. I find 15 – 17 minutes is perfect for a medium burger.
- Top. The burgers with a piece of cheese and close the air fryer basket with the air fryer off to let the cheese melt. The residual heat in your air fryer will be enough to melt it.
- Assemble. Your burgers on buns and with all your favorite toppings.
Tips & Variations
- Place the burgers in a single layer. It’s okay if they slightly touch just make sure they don’t overlap each other. This will ensure even cooking.
- Adjustable cook time. Air fryers all work slightly differently, everyone likes their burgers cooked differently, and frozen burgers may be different thicknesses. For the best results, start checking them at ten minutes and then periodically until they’re cooked the way you like them.
- Turn the air fryer off to melt the cheese. At this point, you don’t want the burgers to cook anymore.
- Swap the burger bun for a wrap or use some lettuce leaves or a low-carb option.
Serving Suggestions
There are all kinds of ways to serve up air fryer burgers! Here are a few favorites from our house!
- Fries are always a favorite! From waffle fries to frozen fries, these can also be easily cooked in the air fryer! Don’t forget to add some french fry sauce.
- You can also make homemade tater tots for a tasty treat or serve them with a side of homemade BBQ baked beans.
- Upgrade your toppings to include onion rings, sauteed mushrooms, or BBQ Sauce.
- If you’re craving some veggies, zucchini fries and corn on the cob make great options.
Recipe FAQ
It varies depending on the thickness of your burgers, your air fryer, and how you like your burgers. I find that in general, it will take about 10-20 minutes.
Yes, it works great! You can cook them straight from the freezer or use it to cook thawed burgers too. Just remember if the meat is thawed, it will require a shorter cooking time.
It’s not necessary especially when using frozen patties which are often fairly thin and even in size. If you want to get both sides to have a bit more of a charred look then it doesn’t hurt to flip them over halfway through cooking.
Storing
- Store. Leftover cooked burgers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to four days or in the freezer for up to three months.
- Reheat. In the air fryer at 350° F for 5-8 minutes or until heated through.
