Buffalo Chicken Dip Ingredients

Ingredients for buffalo chicken dip.
  • Chicken. I used canned chicken that comes in small pieces. It makes prep so easy and convenient. Make sure to drain the chicken before adding to the crockpot.
  • Hot sauce. My go-to hot sauce is Frank’s RedHot. Use your favorite brand and favorite spice level.
  • Cream cheese. Be sure to soften the cream cheese before adding it in. It makes mixing the ingredients so much easier.
  • Blue cheese dressing. This secret ingredient makes the dish really pop in flavor. Even if you aren’t a fan of blue cheese dressing, you don’t want to skip this ingredient.
  • Cheddar cheese. Use shredded cheddar cheese to mix in. In a pinch use pre-shredded cheese.

Tips for the Best Buffalo Chicken Dip

  • Use Rotisserie Chicken for Extra Flavor. While I love using canned chicken for a quick and easy dip, rotisserie chicken adds a layer of extra flavor! It’s juicy, flavorful, and still saves so much time. Just shred it up and toss it in for that extra yum factor.
  • Layer the Ingredients. To make sure everything melts together perfectly, layer the cream cheese on the bottom, followed by the shredded chicken, buffalo sauce, and ranch. It ensures that creamy, cheesy goodness blends seamlessly!
  • Low and Slow for the Win. Patience is key! Cook the dip on low for 1-2 hours to get that perfect, smooth consistency. No need to rush it—let the crockpot work its magic!
  • Top with Extra Cheese and Broil. For a drool-worthy finish, sprinkle some extra shredded cheese on top and pop it under the broiler for a few minutes. You’ll get a golden, bubbly layer that takes this dip to the next level!

  • Reheat leftovers. Reheat them in the microwave in 30-second intervals. Stir in between each interval. If you plan to eat the whole thing, you can heat this dip in the crockpot again, or oven.
