½ cup mayonnaise ½ cup buttermilk 2 ½ tablespoons lemon juice 1 ½ tablespoons white wine vinegar ½ teaspoon salt ⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper 1 16 oz. package coleslaw mix 2 tablespoons minced onion
Stir mayonnaise, buttermilk, lemon juice, vinegar, salt, and pepper together in a bowl until smooth.
Combine coleslaw mix and onion in a large bowl. Pour the mayonnaise mixture over top and stir until well combined. Chill for 1 hour before serving.
Make it spicy! Add some diced jalapenos, Sriracha, or cayenne pepper to the coleslaw during mixing.
Be sure to let it sit for at least an hour. The cabbage will relax a bit and absorb the dressing making the slaw taste much better.
Like a sweeter slaw? Add one to two tablespoons of sugar.
Chopping your own cabbage? Using pre-shredded mix really saves time but if you prefer a head of cabbage be sure to slice it into similar-sized pieces.
