Ingredients

  • ¾ cup mayo
  • 3 cloves garlic minced (3 Tablespoons)
  • 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch of salt to taste
  • Pinch of cayenne to taste

Instructions

  • Mix mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, salt, and cayenne in a bowl. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Fresh ingredients matter. Fresh garlic and freshly squeezed lemon juice make this sauce taste the BEST so don't swap them or leave them out.
  • Give it time. Let it sit for at least thirty minutes (even better overnight) to let all the flavors meld together.
  • Use high-quality mayonnaise. The brand doesn't matter -- it can be your favorite but this isn't the best dish for using a budget brand.
  • Store. In an airtight container or jar for up to one week in the fridge. Do not freeze garlic aioli.
