Notes

  • Crowd Pleaser. While this is a great weeknight dinner recipe, it’s also a huge crowd-pleaser! Try it out for family gatherings, potluck, or even at a holiday party. I guarantee you’ll get lots of compliments!
  • Chicken. While we used ground beef in this recipe, it can also be made with chicken.
  • Double the recipe. You can either use an extra large dish and use the same amount of sauce, or double the recipe into 2 different casserole dishes.
  • Top it. You can add an endless amount of tasty taco toppings on top of this Dorito Taco Casserole. It's so good with shredded lettuce, pico de gallo, corn salsa.
  • Store. Cover the cooked casserole with aluminum foil and store in the refrigerator for up to 4-5 days.
  • Freeze. This taco casserole makes a great freezer meal. It can be stored for up to 3 months. Just leave off the top Doritos layer and shredded cheese until right before you bake it. When ready to bake, defrost overnight and bake as instructed, or bake from frozen but just add 1 hour to the cooking time.
  • Reheat. To reheat this tasty meal, reheat the portion you wish to eat on a microwave-friendly plate for about 1-2 minutes. Or you can reheat the entire casserole in the oven for 45-60 minutes or until warm.
