Ingredients

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients into blender (liquid ingredients first).
  • Blend on high for 2 minutes or until smooth. Scrape down sides and blend for another 30 seconds.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Add Some Protein:  When I don’t have time to make breakfast, I add my favorite protein powder to this smoothie. I love that I can’t taste the protein powder (I hate the taste of protein powder) but I know it’s there because it keeps me full until lunchtime. You can also add nut butter as a source of protein too.
  • Use Frozen Fruit: I like to use frozen fruit instead of ice cubes in my smoothies. It makes it smoother and less icy but also makes the recipe super easy. I just buy the chopped frozen mixed berries in the frozen section of my grocery store, because I’m all about making things quicker and easier!
  • Fill Up Your Blender in the Right Order: You always want to layer your ingredients from the softest to the hardest (frozen) in the container. This makes it easier to blend. So start with the orange juice, vanilla extract, and yogurt. Last, add fresh or frozen fruit.
  • Different Fruits: Feel free to mix and match fruit flavors as you prefer. Sometimes I add a bit of frozen banana for extra creaminess.
  • Store. If you have some leftover smoothie mixture, store it in the fridge for later. Once you’re ready to drink it, add a little extra yogurt to the smoothie to thicken it up again. You can also blend it again with a bit more ice or frozen fruit. It will last for up to five days.
