Ingredients

  • Cream Cheese: Plain cream cheese is best. Philadelphia cream cheese is my favorite brand for this sweet dip recipe, but any brand will do.
  • Canned Crushed Pineapple: There’s no need to drain the pineapple before mixing up the dip!
  • Cottage Cheese: Add savory notes to the Cool Whip fruit dip, balancing out the sweetness and acid from the pineapple.
  • Instant Pudding: Vanilla or Coconut flavored pudding is the best for this easy dessert dip.
  • Cool Whip: Defrost it in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours before starting the recipe.
  • Honey: Adds just the perfect touch of extra sweetness to the vanilla pudding fruit dip.
  • Lemon Juice: Brightens up the flavors of the pineapple fluff recipe, making the sweet and creamy flavors shine. If you aren’t a fan of lemon, do not worry – you will hardly taste the flavor!

Tips & Variations

  • Soften the Cream Cheese to Room Temperature. Using soft cream cheese will make the dip easiest to whip up.
  • Mixing Options. The pineapple dip can be whipped up with a hand mixer, stand mixer, or food processor – whichever you have on hand.
  • Making the Dip Ahead of Time. This dip can be made up to a day ahead of serving. Make the pineapple spread according to the package directions and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Bring the dip to room temperature for 1-2 hours before serving, or until softened.

Serving Suggestions

The dip serves as well with pineapple as it does almost any other fruit. Some of our favorites are bananas, apples, grapes, strawberries, blueberries, pears, mangos, and cherries.

You can also serve the cool whip fruit dip with nilla wafers, animal crackers, pretzels, and sugar cookies, or make a charcuterie platter of fruit and cookies to serve with the dip!

Recipe Variations

  • Reduced-Fat: To make a lighter cream cheese fruit dip, use reduced-fat or Neufchâtel cream cheese, low-fat cottage cheese, and light Cool Whip.
  • Pineapple: For an extra pineapple flavor and a chunkier consistency, fold 1/2 to 1 cup of pineapple cubes into the pineapple dip along with the Cool Whip.
  • Maraschino Cherries: Enjoy an extra flavor or a colorful garnish by topping the pineapple fruit dip with halved or whole sweet cherries.
