Rice Krispie Treats, Oreos

Don’t these rice krispie treats just scream summer fun!? When I saw these Fruit Punch Oreos at the grocery store, I knew I had to try them and to be honest they are the best new Oreo flavor I have tried in a long time. My all time favorite is still the classic double stuffed Oreo, but these fruit punch Oreos are my new second favorite and they’re perfect for summer too!

 I ate the whole pack of the fruit punch Oreos in less than 2 days {don’t judge!} 🙂 I knew I had to make something with these delicious cookies and that’s when these Fruit Punch Rice Krispie Treats were born!

Rice Krispie Treats Recipe

The ingredients are simple, I started out by making the traditional rice krispie treats with melted butter, mini marshmallows and rice cereal. I then spread melted white chocolate on the top of the bars, and SPRINKLED crushed fruit punch Oreos and of course I had to add some neon colored SPRINKLES!

I guarantee I will be making these treats at least a couple times this summer, and you should too! And they don’t require you to turn on your oven, which makes them an even better summer treat! 🙂

The options are endless with these rice krispie treats and you can use different flavored Oreos or use melted milk chocolate instead of white chocolate. I think I will be making these treats for my birthday using Birthday Cake Oreos and sprinkles for a fun birthday dessert!

Fruit Punch Rice Krispie Treats

Ingredients

  • 3 Tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 bag mini marshmallows
  • 6 cups rice cereal
  • 8 ounces white chocolate baking bars
  • 18 Fruit Punch Oreos, crushed*
  • sprinkles

Instructions

Spray 13x9 inch pan with non-stick cooking spray. Set aside.

In a large microwavable bow, microwave butter for 1 minute or until melted. Add mini marshmallows and stir to coat the marshmallows with butter. Microwave marshmallows for 1 minute, stirring until completely melted and smooth.

Stir in rice cereal until coated with marshmallows, press into prepared pan using a spatula.

In a small microwavable bowl, melt white chocolate baking bars in microwave for 30 seconds, stirring until completely melted. Pour over top of the rice krispie treats and spread the melted chocolate evenly on top.

Place Fruit Punch Oreos into a storage ziplock bag and crush using your fists or a rolling pin. Once crushed, sprinkle Oreos and colored sprinkles on top of melted chocolate. Let set for 10 minutes before cutting into squares.
